We took on the management of this small plot in Ayton from Berwickshire Housing Association in Winter 2016. Since then the team of community growers have harvested a whole range of fruit, vegetables, herbs and salads. As you might expect, this summer was the best yet!
Though we did have some unwanted visitors – and an expert to help them along their way!
And the community growers had a fantastic trip the the Forest Garden in Coldstream run by Permaculture expert and founder at Abundant Borders, Graham Bell.
And we are already making improvements for 2017. We’re making a cold frame for tomatoes and cucumbers using windows recycled from a neighbouring house!
